Bioclimatic pergolas in Das
Big skies and wind: in Das we install bioclimatic pergolas with sensors and enclosures so you can enjoy your terrace whatever the weather.
Das: open-sky terraces in the heart of the Cerdanya
Das is a small municipality in the Baixa (Lower) Cerdanya, next to Alp and Urús, best known for the Cerdanya aerodrome, one of the leading spots for gliding. Around the village, houses and second-home estates have been built, many on flat, open ground with wide views of the mountains that ring the valley.
For us, coming from Berga through the Cadí tunnel, Das is a regular work area within the valley. And its open landscape shapes how we plan the pergola.
-
Open ground: the wind is in charge
Where there are no buildings or trees for shelter, the wind blows more freely. In Das we pay special attention to the pergola's orientation relative to the prevailing wind, to anchoring and to post spacing, and we recommend the motorised version with a wind sensor, which moves the louvres into a safe position without you having to be at home.
-
Enclosures for chilly evenings
Clear days in the Cerdanya are bright, but as soon as the sun goes down the temperature drops. Adding glass side enclosures or screens to the bioclimatic pergola creates a space sheltered from the wind, where the terrace stays usable in spring, autumn and on fine winter days.
-
High-altitude sun, shade on demand
With no mountain shadows nearby, the sun reaches the terrace for much of the day. Adjustable louvres let it through when you want it and cut it out during the hottest summer hours, with no awnings to retract when the weather turns.
-
Snow and homes left empty
As in the rest of the valley, snow is part of winter. During the visit we assess the snow load on your plot and give you the structure's rated loads in writing; we also set up the automation so the pergola behaves properly while the house is closed.

What people ask us locally
My house is very exposed to the wind — can I have a bioclimatic pergola?
Yes, but it has to be designed for that setting: suitable orientation, anchoring and post spacing, and ideally motorisation with a wind sensor. We assess all of this during the site visit before giving you a quote.
With glass enclosures, can I use it in winter?
On sunny days, yes: the enclosures block the cold air and the terrace stays pleasant while the sun is out. It isn't a heated room, but it adds many months of use.
Do you also cover Urús and the surrounding villages?
Yes, we work in Das, Urús and the rest of the Cerdanya. If your home is nearby, get in touch with no obligation.
